It's not a bridal train without The Benz. Veevienne, be my bridesmaid, will you?

Image
The Benz. There isn't so much to say because your name says it all already. Last year, I would never have guessed you and I would get so close but you are one lady that is definitely difficult to ignore. And I would have missed a lot if I met you next year, all that juice and sauce that you bring. Plus, when you sing, heavenly! I get the impression you would throw a mean bridal shower. Wink. You're the queen of style, or is it class. Never mind, you're the Benz. I've met several ladies who combine business with service to God, but none quite as intriguing as you. And that's one thing I really want on my special day, balance. I appear quite extrovert to most persons, but after I met you, I realized how much we mirror the silent achiever side of each other, and that's something I don't have with anybody else. You put the lady in the term 'Boss Lady'. Like I said, not too many words. Mi lady, it would be such a thrill to have you by my side as

Will you be my bridesmaid Ruky? Be there with me as I start my journey into 'happy ever after'.

Dearest Ruky, Something happened recently and my reaction made me so proud, then I realized that in our friendship, I silently learnt a lot about everything, from being a great broadcast journalist to saying NO. One of my favorite memories of us was an incident that occurred three years ago. On the phone one weekend, you mentioned you were bored. I was trying to be Super Woman so I dressed up, got in a cab and appeared at your doorstep less than an hour later. My plan was simple, surprise you with a movie hang out. Turned out you were more tired than bored. And I was honestly confused, how could someone be bored and tired at once. Sigh. We didn't go to the movies, I didn't go to the movies. My dreams of being Super Woman, shattered. Lol. It was a boring weekend, for me and for you. But I didn't stop loving you. And it didn't hurt our friendship. That taught me something about friendship and love. We don't love when it's convenient or when the fire burns

Be My Bridesmaid, Queen Juka. Bring All the Sunshine from The Gambia, and crown my Wedding Day.

Queen Juka, You are royalty indeed. The first day we met, I was in a completely new country with over 100 new people from all over Africa. But in that multitude, you and I were singled out and given the honor to take the pillars upstairs for our welcome dinner at the President Barack Obama's Young African Leaders Initiative. Lol. Turned out it was an MC audition of sorts. And those pillars were so darn heavy for me but you flawlessly carried them, you and your tall self. I know that may sound like a funny memory but it's the first time I really saw you, and I was not sure what to make of the mixed emotions in my heart. Then you spoke with that sexy Gambian accent of yours, and I was definitely smitten. I wish we had co-anchored an event together at the RLC, and I wish I had told you how much I admire you. I was super proud when I saw the pictures from the event you anchored in honor of Akon and all the wonderful work you're doing to make Gambia great. But what I wish mo

Happy birthday to the exceptional South East Media Girl and my sister from another mother. May God's uncountable blessings fall on you! Boo bae, I'm exceptionally thrilled by what you're building and influencing in the South east. You have such a beautiful heart and the best things about you are the things you do when you think no one is looking. Like that one time in September, 2015 when you went back & forth to make sure everyone had refreshments at my movie hang out because I was so occupied. Oh, I wasn't too busy to notice. You've always had my back, thank you. You're the kind of friend every girl needs, the one who will step in and put things in order when everyone else just wants to give up. Your hustle inspires my hustle. xoxo. Babe, your sister is getting married oooo. You already know the way to Udi cos that's where we both rep. Proud Onyia Girls! I need you to bring the life to my party, 042 style. That's exactly what you do with ya f

Hey Baby Girl, Will You Be My Bridesmaid?

Image
You've always been my girl. I remember the day you walked up to me at work and offered to be my stylist for my tv show for freeeee! I'd always admired your dress sense and personality from a distance but on that day I got to see another side of you I didn't think was possible. You are all so down to earth. You're the finest most humble girl I know. And you're also really hardworking and ambitious, always striving to be more and do more. I'm proud of the lady you have grown into Kene, thrilled at how much you've allowed God to mold you. And I can't wait to try out your own clothing designs, even though you've insisted on making only men clothes. #rollseye My personal stylist, it's happening o. I'm getting married to that sweet Ray I told you about. #wink #wink. You know wassup, I don't even know the first thing to do about my different traditional outfits. I need you to whisper in my ear, 'My Maram, stop pulling up the sleeves, i

Dear Ada, Be My Bridesmaid.

In January 2017, I asked God to send me a new friend. Someone who would help me navigate this level of my life and understand what God wants for me because my altar was growing terribly cold and I had moved to a new neighborhood and was lonely. The next week, I was stepping out of my office in Independence Layout when I ran into my one time Hall mate and friend. She was there that cold morning at Zik's Flat, 8 years ago when I received the baptism of the Holy Ghost. Adaeze, you are the answer to my prayer. The friend that I cried to God for. As you came each evening to check on me in January and take me to Dominion City Church, you rekindled a fire in me. The day Ray asked me to marry him, you were the first person I called. Because you were the one who listened endlessly to me each evening on our way from church as I shared animated stories about the man that says he was sent to love me. You were my Elizabeth and you never planted doubt in my heart for once. You practically

Happy Birthday Som

Happy birthday to my darling girl. Chisom, it's been over five years since you came into my life with all the sweet and wit that you are. Ever since I met you at the Lion's den, I've often wondered how one person can be such a perfect blend of grace and beauty. On my wedding day, I want to be surrounded by godly women. Friends who know what love really means and who inspire me to be the best version of myself. Som,we prayed together as undergrads in the University of Nigeria, it would give me so much joy if you would pray with me again as I start the most important journey of my life. In the past few months, we've shared so much in the good gang. And I have come to truly appreciate the girl that you were and the gracious lady you have become. And we were at that sleep over when Ray came to take me on a date and end up proposing to me. Oh well, I'm sorry I ditched y'all to get engaged. Lol. We could always go to the beach again but I could never find
