Hi lovelies, I have amazing news. It's been a really busy week. But the day is finally upon us. I came home to my beautiful city of Enugu from Lagos. From the warm 'abacha' reception my mum gave me, to the awesome harmattan air, it's been awesome. But it's also been lots of implementing and coordination of several vendors. I am tired, and happy. This journey that we started early this year is finally ripe. Tomorrow, #becomingmrsray is fulfilled. I've learnt so much on this journey and my event management company, Mc Olivia Events, definitely came through with the planning. Tomorrow, we perfect it. I feel like I'd be shy when I have to find my husband to give him wine, there's so many family and friends coming to celebrate with my family and Ray's. It feels so good. Hey lovelies,  Happy new month. As I welcome you to my wedding month, I'd love to share my open letter to my fiancé, Ray, with you. Hey Fam, So, as our wedding day draws close, I’ve run into the same kind of sweat-inducing challenge I did in April when it was Ray’s birthday. It’s really difficult to find ideas for fun stuff to do for your man on his birthday/Christmas/Valentine online. This time, I’ve been shopping ‘wedding gifts for your husband’ and it has been a difficult, yet exciting experience. It’s easy to find something for the ladies but nothing much for the men. But I believe the men in our lives deserve to be celebrated as much as the ladies, so I’ve compiled a list of simple things to do for my Mister going forward. I’m going to share a part of my list with you, so that you can also put a smile on your man’s face on any of his special days. 1.  Write him a love poem. Hello lovelies, I hope you've been sweet. I want to interrupt the countdown to our dream wedding in November for something special.  A few months ago, I held the first manuscript for Ray's book To Live Again and read through, then I started looking at my fiancé in a whole new way, Super Fan Mode activated. He wove such a beautiful story and used languages I didn't even know he spoke.  Mind = Blown!  In the book, he tells a captivating story that I could completely relate to. The characters were alive. I was nearly every one in the book, except Idris perhaps. 😛😛😛😛 And because the book is based on true live events, I was entirely spell-bound.  Fast-forward a few months, I'm excited when Ray mentions 'our' book is going to print. Hair-lo lovelies, It's all coming together pretty great. I'm really catching the Wedding Planning fever. Yesterday was superb and my dream wedding is looking more and more like it'll come true! In the few months since I've moved to Lagos, I've had to struggle with getting quality care for my natural hair. Turns out there's just about 3 natural hair salons in Lagos. Two on the Island and one on the mainland. And none was anywhere close to me. So I've tried to be my own hair-hero, and that hasn't been easy. Especially since I plan to be a natural hair bride. Imagine my excitement when I find that this gorgeous Natural Hair Salon was opening right next to me yesterday. I was there first thing in the morning. Gossip time! So it's barely a month to my wedding. Like November is finally around the corner. And my heart beats even faster any time I have to stand next to my man. So, at the Lagos Comic Con last month, something funny happened. The event had comic creators from Africa and beyond. There were several activities holding at the same time in different halls. Several exhibitors were present, the gaming pavilion was on fire, artistes were drawing, the virtual reality set was booming. Animations were playing on the big screen. And in some halls, plenary sessions discussed Africa and the dynamics of the creative industry. I think it was the sight of Children drawing and tracing happily at the Kid Con, that really got me. Seeing these children express their God-given talent was amazing. And knowing they would grow up to meet a vibrant Creative industry had me super thrilled.
