So, as our wedding day draws close, I’ve run into the same kind of sweat-inducing challenge I did in April when it was Ray’s birthday. It’s really difficult to find ideas for fun stuff to do for your man on his birthday/Christmas/Valentine online.

This time, I’ve been shopping ‘wedding gifts for your husband’ and it has been a difficult, yet exciting experience. It’s easy to find something for the ladies but nothing much for the men.

But I believe the men in our lives deserve to be celebrated as much as the ladies, so I’ve compiled a list of simple things to do for my Mister going forward. I’m going to share a part of my list with you, so that you can also put a smile on your man’s face on any of his special days.

1.  Write him a love poem.

It may seem like it is only ladies that love to hear sweet things but that’s not true, write him something Shakespearean or use your local dialect to pen down something romantic. He’ll love it.

2. Send him a handwritten Letter.

You can leave lipstick kisses on the letter too. Lol. Just like old school romance.

3. Take him to Karaoke and sing for him.

Find out what his favorite song is. Then serenade him somewhere in public. Men love to be wooed, unless he’s extremely shy and would feel embarrassed instead. Know your man!

4.  Fun Day at the Beach

If he loves to play in the water, then this would be ideal. Okay, maybe I like the beach too. Wink! Le boo and I got nearly drenched in the rain as we were about to head to the beach one day. I enjoyed it thoroughly. So maybe you can lure him into the rain too. Bring out the young boy in your big man.

5. Fancy Breakfast Date

Romantic dinner dates have become kind of cliché, so why don’t you switch it up a little. Take him to a really fancy place for breakfast. Ask questions, you’d find some restaurant or hotel that has a breakfast buffet. Pay the bills.

6.  Massage

Depending on whether you’re married or still courting, you can either arrange for a visit to a spa or get some massage oils and stone, the whole works and work his muscles yourself. He works so hard, he would find this deeply relaxing.

7. Book a Secret Photo Session

Have a photographer discreetly follow you around the whole day and capture random pictures of you two. Creepy, right? Depends on the kind of man you’re dating. Don’t try this if he would find it uncomfortable.

8.  Get matching t-shirts of his favorite club and go watch a game with him.

He would love this if he’s a football fan. And he’ll most likely always remember. If his club wins, victory sex later in the night. If they lose, consolation sex. Wink. Married ones only! Lol.

9. Get him a thoughtful Gift.

Shoes, a wrist watch, perfume, video games or his dream car. These are all really cool stuff you can get your man. You can also have a painting of him delivered. Or you can get him a gift card from any compliant store, then have him go pick out whatever he wants. The key is to put some thought into whatever gift you do decide on.

10. Pray for him

I know you pray for him other days but on this special day, consider holding his hand and thanking God for the gift he is. Let him know that you’re grateful to have him in your life. Bless him.
